Katy Human
I lead a small team that does all things communications for this world-class environmental research institute, from external media engagement and web content to internal administrative newsletters. I believe in the power of communications to support a culture of research excellence.

Konrad Steffen
Dr. Steffen's general interest was the study of processes related to climate and cryosphere interaction in polar and alpine regions based on in-situ and satellite measurements and using climate system modeling to study their sensitivity. In particular, he studied and evaluated sea-level changes and sensitivity studies of large ice sheets using in situ and modeling results. Most of this research was supported by the NASA/NSF initiative called PARCA: Program in Regional Arctic Climate Assessment.

Vijay Gupta
Vijay K. Gupta was a professor emeritus in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, and a fellow emeritus of CIRES. Vijay has widely published in major research journals in hydrologic and atmospheric sciences, applied mathematics, probability theory, and nonlinear processes in geophysics. Soon after completing his PhD in 1973, Vijay embarked upon highly interdisciplinary collaborative research. From the onset, he recognized the fundamental importance of scale.

Shari Fox
Shari Fox has over 25 years of experience working with Inuit on environmental research, from community-led research and monitoring, to large-scale international Arctic collaborations. Her research focuses on supporting Indigenous self-determination in research and co-production of knowledge. She has worked remotely from Kangiqtugaapik (Clyde River) Nunavut for many years and now works from both Nunavut and a base in Alberta, Canada.
